NJCAA REGION 16 SPORT CODE
SOFTBALL-DIVISION II
A. Selection of Chair: Region XVI Director names chair and selects committee.
B. Selection of Coach of the Year: The Region winner is the Coach of the Year.
C. Selection of region competition site: The site is determined by blind draw. The Region II to compete in tournament.

D. Award Policy: First place for Region XVI is highest finish in the tournament. (If Region VII or II wins tournament, the highest finisher of Region XVI is declared Region Champion). First place region finisher is given one team award and 24 individual awards.
E. All Region/District Selection: Players from Region XVI, II and VII will be eligible for awards. Coaches will nominate players via fax on week prior to the tournament. Voting for the All Region/District team will occur at the conclusion of the first day of the tournament. Players will be rated 1-12. Four outfielders/utility players, four infielders, and four battery players will be chosen to the team. Awards will be presented at the conclusion of the tournament. Costs for the awards will be prorated based on the awards received by each region.
F. All-American nominations: All-Region selections are nominated. Stats must be updated on NJCAA website to be eligible.
G. Code of Conduct: As appears in the NJCAA Handbook.
H. Regional Tournament:
Seeding: The seeding based upon region competition with Region VII and Region II playing in tournament based on overall records
School must declare to participate.
Official: Host institution secures the officials.
Type of play: Double elimination bracket.
Site selection: Refer to C above.
Type of ball: Regional ball is to be NJCAA approved .47 core.
Pre-tournament practice: The host institution set up practice schedule if possible.
Filming of opponents games: not permissible.
Scouting information to non-region institutions discouraged.
Financial Arrangements: Host institution responsible for all expensed with the exception of umpire fees, which are prorated. Each participating is provided one dozen approved softballs. Host institution provides program.
