NJCAA Region 16 Sport Code
Women’s Basketball-Division I
Region: The Region Play-offs will be decided by everyone playing each other twice. (Having seven teams in the region tournament number one seed will receive the bye, three plays six and two plays seven, and four plays five) With six teams in the tournament will be drawn up by the top two teams getting byes. Three playing six and four playing five. The semi-finals and finals will be played at a different site each year.

A. All teams will be seeded for regional play.

Region seed will be based on:
1.
Region record
2.
Head-to-head competition (Region XVI designated games
only, Win/Losses
3.
Winning margins in head to head (Region XVI designated
games (with a maximum winning margin of 15 points)
4.
Division 1games with common opponent record
5.
Flip of a coin if a tie remains
Regional:
Officials will be hired by the Regional Director or a representative.
Championship Game: Officials for the Championship game will be hired by the
Regional Director and from a neutral Association.

5. Type of ball: The official tournament ball used will be the same as stated in the NJCAA Handbook under the Division I Women’s Basketball.
6. Pre-tournament: Schools wishing to practice prior to the tournament will need to contact (the site host for availability) Practice will be limited to one hour per day.
7. Filming of opponent games: Colleges may video only those games in which their college participates.
8. Financial arrangements
1.
The Regional Play-off schools will be responsible for the following:
a. Prepare a program
b. Hire (when applicable) support staff.
c. Be responsible for all expenses.
d. No expenses are allowed for building rental, heat, light, or power.
e. Make all arrangements pertaining to the preparation and maintenance of court
and locker rooms.
f. Provide warm-up basketball for participants.
g. See that spectators are in accord with the rules of the NJCCA.
h. After expenses, all profits are to be turned into the Region.
i. Forward a financial report to the Regional Director one week prior to the
next Spring Region meeting and to each participating school.
Championship
game: After expenses, the profit will be divided:
1/3 to the Region
1/3 to the Winner
1/3 to the Traveling Team
