Local Chapters

The Missouri Archaeological Society has several local chapters throughout Missouri. Although affiliated with the Society, these chapters are independently governed. Chapter information is listed below.

Iliniwek

Kansas City Archaeological Society

This chapter meets one Tuesday a month from October through June, and they hold an annual picnic in September.

Mound City Archaeological Society (St. Louis area)

The Mound City chapter meets one evening every month. Our business meeting starts at 6:30 pm and the program starts at 7 pm. Each program features a different speaker on a wide range of topics covering prehistoric to historic archaeology. We meet at the Missouri History Museum in Forest Park, 5700 Lindell Boulevard, St. Louis 63112. All meetings are free and open to the public. In addition, we sponsor field trips and special events.

This chapter meets the last Monday of each month, September through June, 7:30 pm, at the Pony Express Museum, 914 Penn Street, St. Joseph.

Sedalia-West Central

This chapter meets February through October on the fourth Saturday of every month. Meetings are held in Sedalia, Missouri at 7:30 p.m. in the Sedalia Farm Credit Services Building conference hall. They have an annual artifact show.

Southwest Missouri (Joplin)

This chapter meets once each month from September through May, and they hold field trips to sites, public exhibitions, and presentations.
