Missouri
Archaeological Society
Spring Meeting
The
Annual Meeting of the MAS serves several purposes:
- a chance for socializing
with old and new members at the Friday-evening reception and the Saturday-evening
banquet
- a chance to purchase
publications of the MAS and other organizations
- illustrated
lectures on important new discoveries made by professional, student,
and amateur archaeologists
- the annual business
meeting where new officers are elected and committees report
The Annual Meeting
is always held over a weekend to allow for the participation of amateur
archaeologists, student archaeologists, and professional archaeologists.
The Missouri Association of Professional Archaeologists (MAPA) holds
their
meeting in conjunction with the MAS.
