Of Interest to Teachers

The MAS is pleased to endorse a new educational program: Archaeology Quest to be held fall 2007–2008! The link to the left provides more information on this program, or visit the Archaeology Quest website.

MAC Quest Program
A cooperative effort between the MAS, Chesterfield Landmarks Preservation Commission, and River Bend School (Parkway School District) has produced an exciting new Web site directed at 4th graders.

MAC stands for Missouri's Ancient Cultures, and the site is intended to be a teaching tool that is easy to use and fun to work with. Click here to check out the new MAC Quest Program!

Free handouts! These are meant to be distributed to classes, groups, etc. Download the PDFs below to learn more about:

(all in PDF; the free Adobe Acrobat Reader is available for downloading.)

Check out the MAS' educational video: "On the Trail of the First Americans & Missouri's Native American Heritage." It's being offered at the reduced price of $5!

In past years, we've offered a Guide to Giving Talks on Archaeology to People of all Ages. It includes an outline of topics that might be covered, plus several handouts that can be used in conjunction with your presentation. The newly edited version is available now for $6 (including postage).

Follow this link to the Missouri Heritage Project (DESE) for loads of teacher's resources. This next link takes you to a page where you may download a PDF of the teacher's guide entitled "Finding Missouri: Our History & Heritage" which lists the topics available in the "Finding Missouri" video series. Once there, click on" teacher's guide" in the upper left corner.
