Desk Copy Policy

We greatly appreciate the business that instructors stimulate for the Missouri Archaeological Society via local book stores. We are glad to know that our publication is being so widely accepted and put into practical use. If we can be of further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.

We have changed our desk copy policy to allow professors/instructors to request more than one desk copy of Human Osteology. If your bookstore orders at least 10 copies you are eligible for 1 free copy; if more than 40 are ordered, you may request 2 copies; and if 60 or more copies are ordered, you may request 3 copies of the book. Teaching assistants may purchase extra copies for $16.00 (a 50% discount) if needed.

Because of cost constraints, for Mammalian Osteology and Avian Osteology, our previous policy remains in effect: an instructor may request one free copy per edition of the books with a minimum order of 10 copies of a title.

Desk copies should be requested either on a desk-copy request form or on department letterhead. It may be faxed to us at 417-836-6335. Please be sure to include 1) the instructor's name, 2) how many students are enrolled, 3) whether or not it is a required text, 4) a good shipping address for the instructor, and 5) contact information for the instructor (an e-mail address is often helpful).

Please note that in any case, the desk copy request cannot be processed until after a qualifying bookorder(s) has been received in the office.

We ship by the least expensive means, so keep that in mind when estimating when you'll receive the book. International orders from Canada or other countries will be shipped by surface economy mail, which normally takes 4–6 weeks.
