10/23/05 – UN Day Dinner:  “Child Health and Survival.”  Presenter:  Dr. Gil Mobley, Volunteer Medical Director for the Lake Atitlan Medical Project, Guatemala.

4/5/05 – “WHO Cares About Taiwan – And Why it Matters to You”

    Presenter:   Dr. Dennis Hickey, SMSU Political Science professor and UNA Board member presented a lecture on Taiwan’s efforts to join   the World Health Organization.

3/8 & 3/15/05 - Bombies (Film and Discussion Series)

The Springfield-Greene County Library and the Springfield chapter of the United Nations Association [represented by Jack Hembree and Ann Fuhrman], participated in a two-part film viewing (March 8) and topic discussion (March 15) of the film "Bombies." This program was presented through a grant from The Human Rights Video Project, a grant project for public libraries created by National Video Resources and the American Library Association.  The Springfield-Greene County Library received 13 videos (on various human rights issues) worth $1,620.80, so it was extremely beneficial for UNA to act as a community partner on this project.

1/28/05 - Annual Meeting:  “THE UNITED NATIONS' 60th ANNIVERSARY: A CRITICAL CROSSROAD”

Presenter Jack Hembree, UNA Chapter 178 President, discusses the UN's Oil-for-Food Program, the misperceptions and false allegations surrounding it, and the ongoing investigation.
