Welcome to the Resilience Skill Building Workshop page. This site is currently sponsored by Missouri State University. This work was made possible by a Safe Schools/Healthy Students grant awarded to the Springfield Public Schools, Springfield, Missouri in late 2003.
The Resilience Skill Building Training program was originally designed to be a 40-hour training in methods that promote resilience, not curriculum. As such, it incorporates a wide variety of experiential learning methods and processes to promote the goal of boosting resilience in ALL children.
Included on this site are all the materials we used in our training, with some exceptions. Permission to use some copyrighted materials was not able to be obtained. However, the majority of authors and publishers of materials we used were tremendously cooperative, and we thank them for their contribution. Many of the materials we developed through the course of the workshop history.
We suggest that you begin by viewing the video. The presentation contained in the video presents an overview of the process and some important keys to the methods used. We hope you find these materials and trainings interesting and helpful. If you have feedback or further questions, please contact Dr. Joe Hulgus, Associate Professor of Counseling, Missouri State University at 417-836-6522 or by email at JosephHulgus@MissouriState.edu.
