Penny Clayton

Penny Clayton, PhD, CPA, CFE is a full professor of accounting at Drury University and serves as the accounting program’s coordinator. She is also a partner with Clayton York & Hopp, CPAs. A lifelong resident of Springfield, Penny holds a doctorate from Oklahoma State University and is a past recipient of the Missouri Governor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching, the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants Outstanding Educator Award, and more recently, the 2011 ACBSP Teaching Excellence Award. She is also a member of both the MSU athletic hall of fame and the Springfield softball hall of fame. Her interests outside of teaching include biking, roller blading, and drawing.
